Kerstin Jeckel (* 1960) lives and works in Wiesbaden.
From 1983-1989 she studied art at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. Jeckel's paintings - whether in a
large, space-saving format, in their mosaic-like series or in their miniatures on paper - are tenderness
between colours.... Minimalist in the formal language, the artist
always tries to create a harmony of tones and values. She succeeds. Based on a fundamental interest in
the aesthetic effectiveness of the colours, especially in their points of contact and interfaces, as well
as their expansive, physical relief, her paintings move from abstraction to symbolic representations.
Symbolic ornamentation and above all the forms of nature with flowers, leaves, tendrils and roots inspire
Jeckel's work. Jeckel offers the viewer wonderfully powerful, heartwarming art.
